Rainforest Foundation Norway seeks an experienced Partners Finance Adviser for the Brazil program.
We are seeking a Partners Finance Adviser to be responsible for the capacity building of partners in relation to financial policies and compliance, internal control strengthening and best practices related to financial management (in line with RFN procedures) and also for the provision of onsite technical support to partners.

Location: Brazil (Home Office). The position requires working with staff, peers and partners across different countries and multiple time zones.
Reporting Structure
This position will report directly to the head of the relevant country program.
Travel Requirements
The role requires frequent travel within Brazil and the Amazon region.
International travel may be required for training, conferences, and meetings with RFN staff, leaders and other stakeholders at RFN’s headquarters in Oslo, Norway.
Key Responsibilities
Provide onsite technical support and follow up on improved administrative capacity of partners, in line with RFN procedures.
Carry out assessments and analyses on financial management and guide and support others in RFN within the area of responsibility.
Contribute to developing policies and procedures and to implement relevant programmes and processes
Entail frequent internal communication within the department and with other departments to coordinate and quality assure processes.
Entail frequent external communication to advise, inform, and guide

Necessary Competencies, Skills And Experience
Advanced knowledge in financial management acquired through higher education (normally a master's degree) and relevant experience. In most cases, formal education can be compensated for by documented and relevant experience.
Advanced knowledge of related national regulations for NGOs, CSOs and indigenous organizations.
Able to work independently with limited guidance from a manager
Experience in multicultural and international working environment settings
Fluency in written and verbal English is required, and fluency in the relevant country language(s); namely, Portuguese is required.
A strong communicator who excels at active listening produces cogent and polished writing
Experience from development cooperation is a strong asset.
Proficiency in relevant tools for the area of responsibility such as excel, spreadsheets and experience with using finance systems
Demonstrates experience in assessing opportunities, challenges, and stakeholders with which to engage
Personal attributes -strong interpersonal and analytical skills with problem-solving ability
