Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the ambulatory operations through clinic leadership and in conjunction with hospital leadership for the market or specialty throughout the system, ensuring a high level of productivity, service and quality. Continually monitors functionality of the operations and services, and revises operational strategies as needed. Serves as a liaison to corporate and hospital departments that provide and/or support these services.
  • Responsible for the management of efficient systems and programs that provides for quality patient services and overall patient satisfaction. Responsible for resolution of any provider and patient concerns that are not resolved at the local leadership level.
  • Leads and actively participates in management committees and in the recruitment process of physicians and advance practice professionals. Responsible for facilitating the assimilation of newly hired or affiliated physicians into the practice setting including but not limited to credentialing, orientation/training, practice setup, and post-integration follow-up.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communications and working relationships with hospitals and/or markets, providers, physician and administrative leadership, and advanced practice professionals.
  • Responsible for the implementation of organization and system initiatives to include, but not limited to initiatives focused on operational and financial improvements and patient experience and safety. Actively supports the organization's mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives. Develops and implements a system to ensure that established policies, goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Responsible for executing system specialties or market growth planning and business strategies. Works closely with market leaders and service line leaders to integrate services, develop market-based growth strategies and coordinate services throughout the market or system.
  • Participates in community activities and supports staff participation in community activities. Acts as a liaison to community business and civic leaders.
  • Responsible for leasing and/or renting of office space and responds to concerns of tenants, if applicable. Facilitates problem resolution relating to the facilities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable local, state and federal codes and regulations and ensures compliance with these codes and regulations.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.


Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 10 years of experience in managing a health care facility that includes experience and knowledge of medical practice and ambulatory management, operational structure systems and ambulatory policies, procedures and processes. Includes 5 years of management experience in management of staff, budgets and multiple ambulatory functions.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including project management, process improvement, problem solving, decision making, prioritization, delegation, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public.
  • Strong financial analysis and management, long range planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience in using computer applications in a medical practice setting.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Generally exposed to a normal office environment.
  • Position requires travel between clinic sites; therefore will be exposed to road and weather conditions.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Pay Range

$73.90 - $118.25
