Job Title: Specialist, Event Operations
Level: 8

The Team:
The Event Operations team within the Journal of Commerce at S&P Global is dedicated to creating impactful and memorable paid events that align with our organizational goals. Our team values collaboration, creativity, and a global mindset, striving to deliver exceptional experiences for our sponsors and attendees. We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring our events set industry standards.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Coordinate all aspects of sponsor involvement in events, including branding, room block management, registration, and any contractual obligations while ensuring clear communication and seamless execution of sponsorship deliverables.
  • Liaise with vendors to help fulfill sponsor deliverables, including vendor research and identification, order management, and invoice payment.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director of Sales and sales team to research & develop new sponsorship ideas, pricing & specifications, managing all sponsorship reports, ensuring all deliverables are consistent.
  • Support the development and execution of innovative strategies to enhance sponsor engagement and satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a corporate environment, preferably in a customer facing role.
  • Experience in event operations with a focus on sponsorship and partnership coordination.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. 
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with sponsors.
  • Ability to take directions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with international sponsors and partners, demonstrating a global mindset.
  • Familiarity with event management software and tools such as CVENT and On24 as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and build rapport with colleagues across all levels and locations.
