Digital Product Design Associate

Work Location:

Remote - USA

Schedule:

Full time

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this person designs digital experiences for all who encounter InterVarsity’s digital presence. This ranges from custom products and content to purchased platforms. Successful candidates know design thought, product design, and user research. They model collaborative working patterns with excellent communication. They continuously remind product and project teams of the importance of creating great audience outcomes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

ACTIVITIES

User Research & Experience Design

  • Project Analysis & Discovery: Conduct stakeholder interviews, user research, and other discovery methods to define project requirements and align with organizational and user goals.
  • Data: Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions. Present insights to stakeholders, ensuring responsible data handling and evidence-based improvements.
  • User Research: Conduct generative and evaluative research (e.g., user interviews, usability testing). Present findings and iterate designs based on feedback to better meet user needs.
  • User Experience Design and Prototyping: Develop user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. Continuously test and refine based on usability testing and stakeholder input.
  • Content Design: Collaborate with Editorial and Design teams to ensure content enhances the user experience and aligns with the overall design intent.
  • Client and Team Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align user needs, business goals, and resources. Lead design discussions and actively gather feedback to inform strategy.

High Fidelity & UI Design

  • Visual & System Design: Design original, imaginative interfaces that align with brand standards and push the boundaries of the design system.
  • Design Execution: Translate concepts into original mockups that reflect creative vision and distinctive visual storytelling.
  • Creative-Technical Collaboration: Work with developers to implement designs faithfully, using technical knowledge to preserve original intent.

  • Adherence to Policies: Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and consistency.

FUNDRAISING
  • Raise a portion of salary in an amount or percentage agreed upon with Supervisor
  • Communicate regularly with current and potential donors, churches, prayer support team members, friends and family regarding ministry with InterVarsity

QUALIFICATIONS (common to all levels of Digital Designers)
  • Commitment to Mission & Values: Affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement annually and adhere to the organization’s Doctrinal Basis, Purpose Statement, Code of Conduct, and Human Sexuality Theological Paper. Support and align with InterVarsity’s “Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation.”
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Digital Media, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent years of professional experience in digital design may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in Figma. Familiarity with additional design tools is advantageous.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in digital design, showcasing design processes, user-centered solutions, and problem-solving abilities.

Pay Range: $44,016.00 - $58,680.00 per year
