Job description

The Director of Training and Certification at Red Hat is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of training programs and certification processes. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in IT training, certification, program management, and vendor management. The Director will ensure that Red Hat's training and certification offerings are of the highest quality, align with industry standards, and meet the needs of our diverse customer base.

Key Responsibilities
Training and Certification Management
  • Develop and Implement Training Programs: Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of comprehensive training programs for Red Hat products and solutions.
  • Certification Development: Lead the creation and maintenance of certification exams and processes, ensuring they are rigorous, relevant, and up-to-date with industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for training materials and certification exams to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs and certification processes.
Program Management
  • Program Development: Develop and manage training and certification programs, ensuring they meet the strategic goals of Red Hat.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources to various programs, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders to ensure program objectives are understood and met.
Vendor Management
  • Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with external training and certification vendors, ensuring they meet Red Hats standards and requirements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with Red Hats strategic goals.
  • Vendor Performance: Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, providing feedback and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with vendors to develop and enhance training materials and certification exams.
Strategic Leadership
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for the training and certification department, aligning with Red Hats overall business objectives.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the departments budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of training and certification professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure training and certification programs meet their needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelors Degree: Information Technology, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Masters Degree: Preferred in a relevant field.
Experience
  • IT Training and Certification: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT training and certification, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Vendor Management: Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Program Management: Strong program management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex programs.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex projects.
