As a Regional Sales Manager, you will develop a strategic and tactical plan to deliver strong growth across the Rocky Mountain region & mid-west United States (CO, MT, WY, UT, ID, NM, TX, OK, LA, AR). You will report to the Sr. Director, Sales Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hunt for “net new” customers through prospecting, conferences, & external sales channels; build new customer relationships
- Build internal relationships across the organization
- Manage pricing to balance top line growth with profitable growth
- Report and provide formal feedback, sales forecasts, and important commercial and technical issues to the Sr. Director of Sales and other leadership and team members as required
- Collaborate and share information on the competition (products, prices) and customer requirements with the marketing team
- Partner with order management team for processing and collecting invoices to guarantee smooth handling of all customer-relevant logistics
- Partner with our Service team to maintain World Class Customer Service
- Work closely with the Metrology team to develop sales strategies to deliver growth for all product lines
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline within the SalesForce CRM
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, minimum of 5 years of experience in sales of technical investment goods
- Must have a self-sufficient hunter mindset
- Sales experience with customers in the Rockies and Mid-West is a plus
- Experience in one or more markets (optics, defense, semiconductor, life science, advanced manufacturing; interferometry & profilometry is a plus
- Curious; willing to learn to use Zygo instruments for demo and test measurements
- Focused problem-solver with a view toward customized solutions for our customers
- Proactive communicator across sales, engineering and leadership teams on all levels; strong presentation skills
- Displays confidence; drive to achieve; and tenacity to meet and exceed objectives
- Comfortable with travelling up to 60%
