JOB SUMMARY:

ASTOUND is seeking a visionary, sales-driven Head of Sports Practice to lead and grow our presence in the sports and live entertainment industry. This is a strategic business development role responsible for driving new revenue through the creation of immersive brand experiences, fan engagement platforms, and venue innovation within the new experiential economy.

This leader will define and execute our go-to-market strategy in sports, tapping into ASTOUND’s unique strengths in design, digital, fabrication, and storytelling. You'll work closely with major leagues, teams, brands, and venues to shape next-gen fan experiences—on game day and beyond.

We’re not looking for a traditional account manager. We’re looking for a revenue-generating, deal-closing, opportunity-creating business builder.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Drive Growth in Sports: Identify, pursue, and close net new opportunities with professional sports teams, collegiate athletics, major leagues, entertainment venues, and sports brands.
  • Lead with Strategy: Build tailored pitches that solve real business problems for sports clients—fan engagement, sponsor activation, stadium experience, and brand affinity.
  • Own the Vertical: Build and lead ASTOUND’s sports-specific growth plan; establish short- and long-term revenue goals, client targets, and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent ASTOUND: Be the face of ASTOUND at key sports and entertainment events, conferences (e.g. ALSD, SEAT, SBJ, SXSW), and industry roundtables.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with internal creative, digital, estimating, production, and strategy teams to ensure each opportunity is scoped and pitched with excellence.
  • Lead Major RFP Responses: Architect and deliver winning proposals that demonstrate ASTOUND’s integrated capabilities and passion for the power of live.
  • Cultivate Relationships: Build long-term trusted partnerships with key decision-makers, sponsors, and innovation teams across the sports ecosystem.
  • Build the Brand: Collaborate with marketing to elevate ASTOUND’s positioning in the sports world via case studies, press, and thought leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8–15+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or strategy roles in sports, agency, experiential, or entertainment
  • Proven success in closing large-scale, multi-year deals with pro teams, sports leagues, venues, and/or sponsors
  • Deep understanding of how brand, technology, and experience converge to create unforgettable fan moments
  • Highly networked within the sports business world—especially decision-makers in sponsorship, marketing, and innovation
  • Ability to think both creatively and commercially — balancing brand storytelling with business ROI
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ambition, entrepreneurial environment
  • Passion for sports, immersive experiences, and the future of fan engagement
