Job description

About the Organization:

Swaniti Initiative is a fourteen-year-old social enterprise working to build a sustainable future in a climate-constrained world. We focus on working with communities and governments to identify gaps in and opportunities for programs on energy security and economic development through research, coalition- and partnership-building, and technical assistance.

While most of our work has been internationally focused, over the past several years we have been exploring ways to make an impact at home in the United States, particularly around economic development in energy communities. We believe these communities – historically dependent on coal and other fossil fuels but increasingly looking towards a more future-proof economic base – have the aspirations, assets and talent to continue to grow and thrive. However, they also have immense opportunity to benefit from strategic approaches and platforms that can showcase their work. It’s with this in mind that Swaniti is working with communities across the country to build these capabilities and platforms that will help them become more economically competitive.

Job Summary:

To support the development and implementation of this project, we are seeking an Analyst who can bring experience working with energy communities (coal and natural gas), an understanding of the opportunities and limitations they face in economic and energy transition, and a passion for supporting them to create the frameworks that will help realize their aspirations for the future.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Documenting and presenting the information and experiences through various channels.
  • Assisting in collaborative efforts between investors and business leaders to showcase the strengths of these communities.
  • Assessing opportunities and pathways forward for various communities.
