This position is with Members Development Company (MDC), which contracts with TruStage to drive its recruiting efforts.

This role is pivotal in shaping how we communicate our vision to our 80+ credit union owners, prospects, partners, and the broader financial services sector. The Marketing Manager will collaborate across all departments.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starting, multi-talented leader willing to roll up their sleeves and do everything from strategic planning to creative design.  The Marketing Manager will be our go-to for all things marketing: content, communication, branding, creative, graphic design, and digital presence (website, owner portal, social media).  The ideal candidate will thrive in dynamic environments, love trying out new tools, and be able to turn big ideas into bold campaigns.

Job Purpose:

This position drives strategic direction, execution, and day-to-day management of MDC marketing and communications efforts. The Marketing Manager will directly impact key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to relevance, value, and engagement. Excellent writing skills are critical; this position will be the primary copywriter responsible for the MDC voice.

Job Responsibilities:

MDC’s Marketing Manager oversees key marketing elements including strategy and communication, brand and design,  website and digital presence, and creative and innovation. You are pivotal in connecting with our owners, partners, employees, and prospective owners. You care passionately about the credit union industry, MDC's work to support owners, and our role in the future of the industry we serve.

Strategy & Communication

  • Drive the ongoing development and execution of MDC’s marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, audiences, and values.
  • Write compelling content for web, social, email, and owner portal that reflects our voice and engages our audience
  • Manage communications, including PR and partnerships
  • Engage in voice of customer (VOC) strategy and leverage create ways (beyond surveys) to gather customer insights
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and owner preferences
  • Develop, manage, and report campaign success metrics and business implications.

Branding & Design

  • Own the brand—ensure consistency across all channels and touchpoints
  • Design digital and print assets: social media graphics, presentations, brochures, etc.
  • Collaborate with leadership to evolve the brand identity
  • Leverage owner insights to further refine how we bring our brand principles and attributes to life

Website & Digital Presence

  • Design and maintain our website, owner portal, and social media content
  • Optimize for UX/UI, SEO, and performance
  • Analyze website traffic and adjust content strategy accordingly

Creative & Innovation

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current key platforms and make recommendations for improvement
  • Explore and implement new marketing tools, AI platforms, and creative software
  • Test innovative campaign ideas across channels and track performance
  • Stay ahead of trends in digital marketing, design, and branding

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a full-stack marketing role (in-house or agency)
  • Experience leveraging brand measurement to build and finesse brand experiences to drive business results
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and how to leverage them for ideation and efficiency
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools
  • Experience managing websites (design, content, SEO)
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Curious, adaptable, and excited to learn and try new things
  • Self-starter
    • Strong collaborator in a cross-functional environment
    • Clear, concise, and compelling communicator
    • Ability to Influence peers and exercise upward influence to bring momentum to new initiatives
    • Detail-oriented; highly organized; ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
    • Ability to use data and analytics to drive impact.
  • Periodic travel required
    • Experience with credit unions, financial services, and/or fintech preferred
    • B2B2C business model experience preferred

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$100,400.00 - $150,600.00
