About Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is one of seven Pinellas County Constitutional Officers directly elected by county citizens and responsible for safeguarding all public records and public funds. The current Clerk and Comptroller, Ken Burke, was sworn in January 4, 2005 and was re-elected without opposition in 2008, 2012 and again in 2016.
The Clerk manages all courthouse records, a local budget of approximately $43 million and over 500 employees. Over the years the Clerk has assumed more than 1,000 individual statutory duties as delegated by the Florida Legislature. Ken fulfills several duties as Clerk of the Circuit and County Court, Recorder of Deeds, Clerk and Accountant of the Board of County Commissioners, Custodian of all County funds, County Auditor, and Elected Official.
