Job description

Senior Learning and Development Specialist

**This position is remote and it's open for Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Peru**

This career specialist consults with managers and senior leaders on deliverables or program management activities associated with multiple business groups or locations of medium risk, scope, and complexity. Further, this incumbent may select, oversee, and evaluate training and development vendors to provide, develop, and/or deliver training interventions. At this career level, the incumbent generally conducts learning and development projects independently or participates as a team member for major and complex initiatives. Able to independently carry out a full learning cycle, including needs analysis, design & development, implementation and evaluation. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other specialists.
 

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an advocate for children. Understands and advances Christ's mandate to protect children. Raises awareness of the needs of children and takes active steps to help protect against neglect, abuse, and exploitation of children. Promotes the dignity, respect, positive treatment, potential of children in all circumstances. Encourages the involvement of others in helping children in need. Reports and appropriately supports responses to incidents of harm of children if they occur.
  • Delivers formal and informal learning solutions including multiple content areas such as professional development, management development and procedural and technical skills. Combines platform delivery and a variety of facilitation skills to create meaningful and engaging group experiences. Develops and implements activities to reinforce key learnings and assess effectiveness. Assesses and reports learner performance and training transfer. Compiles and assesses data to measure performance and program effectiveness.
  • Guides participants, in small and large group settings, through structured learning and interaction utilizing various facilitation techniques, adjusting style as necessary.
  • Audits and evaluates existing content, assesses needs and results, assists with development of new programs, modifies existing programs, or recommends changes as appropriate.
  • May select, oversee, and evaluate training and development vendors to provide, develop, and/or deliver training for employees or partners.
  • Provides insight of emerging Learning and Development strategies and best practices to enhance the success of assigned learning programs.
  • May develop, manage, facilitate, or participate in employee onboarding program. Facilitates non-training events such as team-building, brainstorming, or other group sessions.
  • May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the learning and development discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Communication, Training, Psychology, Human Resources, Human Development or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience working in training, education, learning, employee development, public speaking or similar field.
  • Experience in learning design and/or delivery.
  • Virtual Learning, on-line learning.
  • English (advanced level)​.
  • Technological abilities & knowledge.
  • Cross-cultural experience.
  • Experience with audio & visual production (desired but not a requirement to apply).

Licenses and Certifications

​Continuing education and/or certification related to topics such as training delivery, adult learning methods, learning styles, cognitive psychology, needs analysis, consulting skills, instructional design, and learning modalities.


Working Environment: Home-based position.

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day.

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 35% of normal schedule. Currently 100% virtual.
