Job Title:  Director of Business Development
Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: Core availability for team collaboration and meetings between 9 AM- 6 PM CST
Compensation: $ 4,000 - $ 6,000 per month

About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and growing company specializing in network engineering and cloud-related network engineering solutions. With six years of experience, they possess a strong team of 150 technical experts skilled in areas such as setting up routers, modernizing network stacks (including SD-WAN), utilizing automation, and facilitating the transition from on-premises to cloud networking (AWS, Azure Stack). While they have a proven track record of technical excellence and have worked with Tier One vendors, they are now strategically focused on building direct client relationships within the mid-market enterprise sector.

Role Overview: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Director of Business Development to lead their efforts in acquiring new direct clients within the US market (targeting companies with $100M to $10B annual revenue). This is a unique opportunity to establish the sales function from the ground up and play a pivotal role in the company's growth trajectory. Working directly with the senior leadership team (all remote), the ideal candidate will be responsible for the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and lead generation to pitching services and closing deals. This role requires a proactive individual with a proven track record of independently driving new business for IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to target and acquire new direct clients within the mid-market enterprise segment (primarily $100M - $10B annual revenue) across the US.

  • Initiate and manage the full sales cycle, including cold outreach (emails, etc.), lead generation, opportunity identification, service presentations, proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their business needs and positioning the company's expertise to provide strategic network engineering and cloud solutions.

  • Collaborate effectively with the technical and management teams to develop tailored solutions and ensure successful project delivery for new clients.

  • Establish and utilize sales technology and tools to streamline processes and track progress.

  • Achieve and exceed defined new business revenue targets and KPIs.

  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline development, and progress towards goals to the senior leadership team.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the network engineering and cloud services space.

  • Be willing and able to travel to client meetings as required to build relationships and close deals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Accomplished Sales Executive/Director with 6+ years of experience and a proven history of successful business development and new client acquisition in the US IT services sector.

  • Experience selling IT services to enterprise-level clients (ideally within the $100 million to $10 billion revenue range).

  • Strong understanding of the IT services landscape, with a preference for candidates with knowledge of network engineering and cloud technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and execute sales strategies, including cold outreach and lead generation.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently in a remote environment.

  • English proficiency.

  • Proven ability to independently build a sales motion from scratch and generate new business.

  • Experience selling contracts in the range of $250k to $2M+.

  • A strong understanding of the IT services landscape. While deep network engineering expertise is a significant plus, a solid understanding of IT sales and services is essential.

  • Experience working with mid-to-large size enterprise clients (ideally within the $100M - $10B annual revenue range).

  • Excellent professional presence and strong client-facing skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and collaborate with colleagues across different locations.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Openness to travel to client locations as needed.
