Job description

Hi. We’re Article Group, a product marketing agencyWe are built to service the unique needs of innovative product companies.

That means we often work with product marketers at some of the most well known tech companies around (think: Google, Meta, Amazon, Salesforce etc.). It also means we’re a great partner for startups and early stage companies looking to leverage our suite of strategic and creative capabilities.

We focus on applying smart strategy, storytelling and creativity to areas we believe are most useful, and can always be more beautiful or interesting.

What you’ll work on
Talent Management
  • Collaborate with the Director of People & Culture to forecast future talent needs, analyze skill gaps in our freelancer network, and execute quarterly talent planning with business groups to ensure our pipeline has the right talent at all times.
  • Manage the full freelancer lifecycle—from attracting top talent to onboarding, facilitating contract updates, offboarding, and maintaining engagement with freelancers post-project.
  • Be the go-to resource for freelancers, managing communications on Slack and Worksuite, answering questions, and ensuring they feel supported.
  • Build a recruitment strategy to grow a diverse, skilled, and connected freelancer network.
  • Design and implement engagement initiatives, like newsletters or community hubs, to keep freelancers motivated and excited about working with us.
Operations Management
  • Develop documentation (i.e., checklists, SOPs, templates) and optimize processes for onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and system access setup, ensuring a seamless freelancer experience with a 48-hour activation turnaround.
  • Own the Creative Collective Hub database with accurate availability, compliance documentation, contract details and utilization insights, leveraging tools like Worksuite and Airtable.
  • Monitor and track freelance budgets, prepare reports on spend, timesheets, and resource allocation, and partner with People Ops and Engagement teams on resource planning.
  • Conduct daily audits of active projects in SSRM/Airtable to flag resource imbalances, ensure timesheet accuracy, and identify operational bottlenecks.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline contractor processes, enhance workflows, and create documentation of best practices for ongoing improvements.

What you bring
  • Proven experience: 3+ years of experience in talent management, freelance/contractor operations, or a related role.
  • Relationship-builder: You know how to connect with people, build trust, and foster a sense of belonging—whether it’s with freelancers or internal teams.
  • Operations wizard: You love systems and processes that make work easier, faster, and more efficient. Airtable? Basecamp? You’re all over it.
  • Curious by nature: You’re always asking, “How can we make this better?” and aren’t afraid to dive into the details to find the answer.
  • Problem-solving mindset: When challenges come up, you don’t panic—you strategize. You’re a natural at finding creative, actionable solutions.
  • Proactivity: You don’t wait for challenges to arise—you tackle them before they become problems.
  • Ownership mentality: You don’t just check tasks off a list; you take full ownership and deliver results.
  • Attention to detail: You notice the little things that can make a big difference in streamlining operations.
  • Flexibility: You can adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical: You’re analytical and enjoy using data to find insights, identify trends, and inform decisions. Pulling reports? Turning numbers into actionable insights? You got it.
  • Tech expertise: Familiarity with platforms like Airtable, Basecamp, or Worksuite is a huge advantage (though not required). As long as you’re willing to learn, we can teach you!

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience, along with comprehensive benefits and the opportunity to shape a critical function within our agency.
