Job Summary:
The Vice President of Strategic Alliances will be responsible for managing and expanding our critical partnerships across key vendors partners in NA. This role requires a seasoned leader with a deep network in the North American payments industry who can drive strategic initiatives, optimize banking relationships, and support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in managing key client applications through the approval process and bank review and ensuring alignment between financial partners and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sponsor Bank and Strategic Relationship Management:
- Oversight of Sponsor Bank Applications: Actively manage and oversee key client applications, ensuring a smooth and efficient process that aligns with business needs.
- Expand Sponsor Bank Network: Assist with sourcing relationships with new sponsor banks to diversify and strengthen Nuvei’s banking partnerships.
- Develop and nurture robust relationships with sponsor banks, ensuring our financial partners remain aligned with client needs and market strategy.
- Partner with cross functional Global Expansion team to relationship manage alternative payment method providers in NA to bolster our service offerings and better serve evolving market demands.
Alliance & Growth Initiatives:
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Compliance, Risk/UW, Schemes and Operations teams to ensure sponsor bank partnerships support business goals and market expansion.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key vendors and alternative payment providers to enhance our solution offerings.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to anticipate and adapt to evolving sponsor-bank requirements.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to assess the effectiveness of strategic partnerships; specifically bank sponsorships.
- Define key performance metrics for sponsor bank partnerships and conduct regular assessments to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide senior leadership with insights and recommendations on sponsor bank performance, industry trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Innovation & Go-to-Market Readiness:
- Collaborate with internal teams and sponsor banks to ensure all transitions, new partnerships, and changes are operationally and commercially ready with a defined go-to-market plan.
- Work closely with internal teams to streamline processes and optimize the onboarding experience for new banking relationships.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 20+ years of experience in the payments industry, with significant experience managing sponsor bank relationships.
- Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining a broad network within the North American payments landscape.
- Proven track record managing relationships with bank sponsors in NA.
- Proven success in sourcing and building new banking partnerships.
Skills:
- Hands-on approach to managing key client applications through the bank review process, while ensuring a balanced mix of business types.
- Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and align banking relationships with business strategy
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional projects and building collaborative partnerships.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and pursue innovative payment solutions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
