Job Description Overview:

This is a remote, full-time, 1099 position supporting a distribution company in the marine dock supplies industry based in Tampa, Florida, USA. We are seeking a tenacious and relationship-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) with a strong background in selling physical products (not services or software), ideally to US and western markets. This role involves managing a healthy flow of inbound leads while proactively identifying and pursuing new opportunities in niche B2B sectors such as government contracts, reseller networks, and international markets.

We are a privately-owned company specializing in the distribution of marine dock parts and supplies. With a strong e-commerce presence and growing team, we take pride in offering reliable products, exceptional customer service, and efficient operational processes. We’re now expanding our footprint and are looking for a driven sales professional to help us grow.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Qualify and follow up with existing inbound leads.
  • Research and generate new leads, focusing on niche segments including government buyers, international markets, and resellers.
  • Develop outreach strategies using email, calls, and SMS to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Conduct market research to identify new customer types and territories.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to refine product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
  • Maintain accurate lead and pipeline tracking using internal systems.
  • Draft compelling email and follow-up sequences to engage prospects.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships that convert into long-term business.

Role Classification: Independent Contractor, 1099

Requirements

Required Availability:

  • ~45+ hours per week, Monday to Friday, primarily during 8 am to 5 pm EST. Weekday evening & Weekend availability is a plus, as all of those calls (leads) go to voicemail today. Flexibility to adjust hours to match client communications across global markets is a plus.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • 3+ years of remote work experience in B2B sales, particularly selling physical products or in e-commerce.
  • Proven success in lead follow-up, cold outreach, and pipeline building.
  • Comfortable with outreach via phone, email, and SMS/text.
  • Strong English communication skills (excellent written English; spoken English must be clear, though not necessarily native).
  • Experience working remotely for US-based businesses
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and a strong understanding of the sales funnel.

Benefits

Compensation:

  • Target total monthly compensation of $2,000–$4,000 (including base + performance bonuses).
  • Base pay in the $1,000–$2,000 range, with variable bonus structure based on targets and performance.
  • Monthly health and wellness reimbursement benefit capped at $50.
  • Compensation may start slightly lower during the initial 90-day training and ramp-up period.
