IT Engineer – Backup & Recovery Level 3

ROLE SUMMARY: CRL is seeking an energetic professional to provide engineering and architecture expertise in the Global Technology group as a member of a cross-functional team. The Global Technology team is accountable for technology at a global scale, supporting 20,000 employees across 100 locations. The Backup and Recovery Engineer Level 3 is key to delivering effective and secure technologies for on-prem and cloud environments. The role requires a mix of expertise in cloud computing, on-prem virtual infrastructure, and backup and recovery technologies. You will create solutions to enable the appropriate backup and recovery methodologies for multi-region, hybrid cloud infrastructures.
Note: It’s a fully remote home-based role for professionally qualified and experienced candidates based in India, who are willing and open to work UK shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, implement, and manage backup and recovery technologies in global data centers, sites, and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
• Be an escalation point for operational support teams to troubleshoot complex issues
• Ensure backup and recovery solutions achieve RTO\RPO targets
• Design and maintain capacity and licensing reports
• Plan and coordinate hardware and software upgrade cycles
• Document technical designs and procedures for compliance and support teams
• Advise Technical Product Owner and management on service enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in the IT field in large enterprise environments
• At least 4 years of experience with VMware
• At least 4 years hands-on experience managing Rubrik, AWS Backup, and\or Azure Backup
• 1-2 years of experience with hybrid and\or public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, etc)
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing backup and recovery technologies in multi-region, on-prem, or public cloud environments
• Experience managing backup and recovery technologies for both physical and virtual server infrastructures hosting Windows, Linux, Oracle, and SQL.
