Senior Specialist, Project Management Support  for a 125+ employee (and growing) remote education non-profit providing professional learning to K-12 educators nationally

Type of Vacancy: Salaried, full-time
Start date: July 2025
Location: Remote 
Report to: Senior Manager, Project Management Support
Supervises: None.
Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $65,500 - $99,075 annually. This range represents the full earning potential for the role, including opportunities for salary growth over time based on performance, tenure, and organizational budget. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $65,500 - $86,401. Teaching Lab will generally cap salaries for new employees at 105% of the midpoint of the full salary range ($86,401) to allow for continued growth in the role over time. There are two types of experience being considered for this role: Experience that is directly relevant to the role and Total Working Experience, in all fields. This includes: internships, part-time work, and consulting work. In collaboration with the hiring manager, the People and Culture team calculates experience based on the candidate’s most current resume. When calculating the offer, consideration is given to candidates who possess additional qualifications (i.e., desired qualifications).

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Senior Specialist, Project Management Support provides technical project planning and project management support for complex partnership projects aligned with Teaching Lab’s strategic goals. The Senior Specialist, Project Management Support, also provides technical support to enhance team members’ capacity for effective project management to increase project impact. This role is critical in Teaching Lab’s mission to positively impact educator practice in service of increased student learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary responsibilities for the Senior Specialist, Project Management Support include:

  • Implement project management planning and support strategy
  • Implement Teaching Lab’s overall project management planning and support strategy 
  • Act as a liaison to assigned partner projects, and collaborate with Project Leads and Client Partnership Managers to: 1) utilize templates for project planning and project management using monday.com, 2) create and iterate on project management tools such as, but not limited to, logistics boards to meet project needs, 3) create reports and communicate with team members and stakeholders on the status of projects, including identifying risks and offering appropriate mitigation strategies, and 4) hold shared responsibility for excellent projects that are responsive to partner needs by ensuring effective use of project planning and management tools and processes
  • Help build the buy-in for and mindset toward project planning and project management as key to launching and executing timely and high-quality projects
  • In collaboration with other members of the Project Management Support Team, create and implement opportunities to build project planning and project management capacity for all team members throughout their employee cycle, including new employee onboarding 
  • Support the development, iteration, user-testing, and finalization of project management planning and support tools
  • Support the organization of monday.com to ensure efficient use

  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration 
  • Participate in efforts to engage with team members across the organization to identify project planning and project management needs
  • Engage in additional work as needed to meet organizational business needs and priorities
  • Engage in internal project flex teams to support non-client-facing, but critical programmatic projects

  • Stay abreast of key research and guidance in the field, attend learning experiences to build skills and competencies in project planning and project management
  • Engage in personal and organized learning opportunities as a team member at a values-based and mission-focused organization.
  • Seek and respond to feedback from team members and adjust strategies and operations related to project management accordingly
  • Create and deliver training to other team members on core skills or competencies within the Senior Specialist, Project Management Support role which is also transferable and critical for other roles.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations & Technology department leadership and/or Executive Team.

  • Two (2) or more years of combined experience with project management methodologies such as AgilePM, scrum, waterfall or lean methodologies
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with a project management system (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Jira, etc) to record and visualize project progress
  • Experience gathering, cleaning, preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data

  • Travel could be required for the role.  Travel is determined based on business needs and can vary depending on partnership/contract requirements.
