Senior Accountant

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Accountant to support and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Finance Department. The Senior Accountant earns a competitive salary of $58,900 to $80,000/per year , based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN LIFE AS A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Job Summary The Senior Accountant holds a critical role in the Finance Department, engaging in complex financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and compliance with fiscal regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform financial analysis and reporting to management as needed. Reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns. Oversee accounts payable and receivable. Manage and supervise accounting staff and payroll specialists. Audit financial transactions and documents. Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations. Work Schedule Eligible for flexible work hours and telecommuting options after a qualifying period, with expectations for regular attendance and hours exceeding 40 per week when necessary. Communication Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, other departments, and external auditors, ensuring accurate financial reporting and data dissemination.
