This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship. Responsibilities Job Duties: Monitors and analyzes access logs. This includes using advanced SIEM software such as Sentinel, ReliaQuest Greymatter, Palo Alto Panorama, and Fair Warning patient privacy intelligence. This also includes support and management of such systems. Provides incident response for all security incidents using SIEM tools such as Sentinel and Forensic tools such as FTK and Forensic Explorer. Provides support and expertise to less experienced IT and security staff for investigations. Runs investigations for Human Resources, University Audit and Compliance, USF General Counsel, and USF Office of Research as needed. Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, and databases. This includes creating security baselines for major operating systems, major applications, network security configurations like firewall rules, database access, and encryption guidelines based on the security classification of data. Conducts risk audits and assessments, and provides recommendations for application, system, and network design. This includes running internal audits against known security standards such as NIST 800-171, HIPAA, and FERPA. This also includes using automated tools such as Rapid7 and Azure security Portal to create specific risk profiles for individual systems. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and IT certification OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1-year relevant work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training. Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices Experience in SIEM tools such as SPLUNK as well as Forensic tools such as FTK and Forensic Explorer. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team Familiarity with security compliance standards and regulations.
