Position Overview:

The Credit Policy Analyst is responsible for contributing to the review, vetting, and publication of Credit Policy related communications.  Reporting directly to the AVP of Credit Policy, the Credit Policy Analyst will support the development and administration of CCM credit policies, procedures, and underwriting criteria.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other departments within Operations, Secondary Marketing and Servicing.

  • Assist with the clear and consistent communication of agency and investor guidelines, updates, and interpretation.

  • Provide draft communications of agency and investor updates, clarifications, and changes for distribution.

  • Research and analyze data provided by various Agencies and Investors to help management determine the application of various policies and procedures.

  • Provide feedback summaries regarding announcements, bulletins and updates provided by Agencies / Investors (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and various investors) to the AVP of Credit Policy for review and publication.

  • Compile information detailing the specifics of information clarified or communicated by each Agency/Investor.

  • Ensure related documentation for all credit policy changes is gathered and adheres to the audit trail requirements of all source documentation and research.

  • Participate in drafting or recommending modifications to standard operating procedures, job aids, manuals, and other documentation based on clarified, vetted and/or updated information.

  • Complete testing as needed.

  • Support management in the development, improvement and administration of credit policies, procedures, and underwriting criteria.

  • Perform other Credit Policy related responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • 10+ years residential mortgage underwriting and/or credit risk experience, with guideline knowledge (FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, Non-Agency, Non QM).

  • Loan quality audit experience.

  • Excellent prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Encompass LOS experience a plus.

Pay Range:

  • Annual Salary: $85,000-$90,000
  • Bonus: Bonus Eligible if applicable
  • The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
