Overview of the role

The Sales and Revenue Director will be responsible for overseeing our global revenue generation activities, including sales, business development, and account management. The Sales and Revenue Director will work closely with the executive team to define and execute the company's international go-to-market strategy, drive revenue growth, and build lasting relationships with both government and commercial clients. We are looking for a hands-on Sales leader, who can build relationships and partnerships to deliver revenue growth as both an individual contributor and as a coach and mentor to the wider revenue generating teams. This is a key leadership role that will have a direct impact on the company’s success and future growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Revenue generation strategy & leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue generation strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and vision.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing Sales team across sales, business development and account management functions.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to identify and prioritise growth opportunities.
  • Define clear goals and KPIs to measure the performance and success of the revenue generating teams.
  • Build effective team structures which maximise the outputs of our global Sales function.
  • Work closely with the Marketing function to ensure alignment of activity, messaging and objectives to drive customer acquisition and revenue generating strategies.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with responsibility for department level P&L’s.

Sales Leadership:

  • Drive the overall sales strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs and client expectations in both the government and commercial sectors.
  • Oversee the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closing.
  • Create and embed repeatable, measurable and effective sales processes to ensure a consistent approach and methodology is applied across the relevant functions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in both government agencies and commercial enterprises.
  • Provide strategic direction for large, complex sales and negotiation processes, including RFP responses, proposals, and contract terms.
  • Responsible for global-level territory allocation, to ensure the correct resources are focused on the appropriate markets.
  • Report opportunity pipeline and forecast to the Board and ExCo.

Business Development & Partnerships:

  • Identify, pursue, and nurture strategic partnerships and alliances with key industry players, resellers, and technology partners.
  • Explore new business models and revenue streams to accelerate growth and maximise market opportunities.
  • Oversee the creation of proposals, contracts, and negotiations with potential partners.
  • Identify and progress sales opportunities through the pipeline as both an individual contributor, and as a mentor and coach to the other members of the sales team.
  • Support the Sales team in the creation, implementation and successful execution of tactical plans for each new account through quarterly reviews of these plans.
  • Set monthly objectives and conduct individual 1:1 review meetings to review performance against objectives.
  • Coach and mentor the Sales team in all aspects of the Raidiam forecasting process in order to maximise accuracy of forecasting and achievement of revenue and non-revenue targets and objectives.

Account Management & Retention:

  • Ensure that developing and maintaining long-term relationships is at the forefront of the commercial strategy by working closely with the customer success team.
  • Monitor and improve retention rates by delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships.
  • Focus the Sales and Revenue function on minimising customer churn through high levels of customer engagement and account management
  • Support the Sales team to maximise Customer revenue and margin through minimising churn and driving cross/up selling activities
  • Create feedback loops between customers, product teams, and the broader organisation to inform continuous improvement.

Team Development:

  • Recruit, develop, and retain top-tier sales and revenue generation talent across all relevant teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on results, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coach and mentor the members of the Sales Team in all aspects of the Raidiam Sales Process in order to maximise their individual level performance.
  • Coach and mentor the Sales Team in all aspects of the key requirement to grow the portfolio of New Logo Customers.
Qualifications and experience
  • 10+ years of international experience in commercial leadership roles, preferably in SaaS, Government or Financial Services B2B services. Experience of professional services, advisory and productised services would be desirable too.
  • Strong track record of driving revenue growth, sales performance, and strategic partnerships, particularly in government and commercial sectors.
  • Expertise in sales, business development and Account Management functions.
  • Proven experience working with complex sales cycles, including responding to government RFPs and navigating public sector procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment across departments.
  • Strong financial understanding and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-driven environment.
