Director, Project Management, Digital Engagement
What You’ll Do
As the Director, Digital Project Management you will support our digital medical communication projects through utilization of project management fundamentals ensuring client goals are achieved and projects are executed on time and within budget. You will manage more complex projects and account portfolios, analyze reports to identify issues and recommend solutions, and collaborate with department leadership to improve processes and workflows.
As the Director, you will support the training and mentorship of junior team members by managing a team of digital project managers (3-5 direct reports, including people managers). As the Directo, you have a deep understanding of digital project exaction and able to both execute digital projects and provide oversight and education to other team members around digital execution and strategy.
A Day in the Life
Deliverables
- Develop SOWs and change orders including creating draft timelines and assumptions, and internal routing/approvals.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project timelines, task completion, and budgets via Workfront project management software.
- Monitor project issues and propose solutions to ensure project is delivered on time, within budget, project objectives are met and the customer is satisfied.
- Monitor and maintain project budget reports and support project financial reconciliation by ensuring all staff hours, project expenses and vendor invoices are submitted in a timely fashion.
- Oversee reviews of project deliverables to ensure project is within scope.
- Oversee the execution of the Vaniam Group suite of digital offerings, making recommendations for process improvement, resource needs, and pricing strategy.
Internal Responsibility and Management
- Collaborate with department managers and resource managers to ensure projects are staffed appropriately.
- Lead communication with internal team concerning upcoming due dates, status reports, hot sheets, escalation of concerns to Client Services team as appropriate.
- Facilitate internal and vendor communication by setting up project calls and connecting appropriate team members to ensure transparency and collaboration.
- Oversee a team of digital project managers, including people managers, provide coaching, mentorship, and problem-solving support on projects.
- Lead and drive conversations around digital and omnichannel project management processes.
- Analyze team and portfolio project data, identify issues or areas of need, and propose solutions to resolve issues.
Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables within this role.
What You Must Have
Education and Experience
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent project management experience required, PMP certification a plus
- A minimum of 5 years experience in project management and 4 years experience working in a medical communications or advertising agency.
- At least 3 years experience managing digital projects in a medical communications or healthcare advertisting agency (website development, interactive modules, e-learning, etc)

Travel Requirements
- Travel within the US and internationally as necessary, based on project, sponsor and organizational needs (<5% travel expected)

The Digital Engagement team expands the boundaries of medical communications, building on our legacy of oncology expertise and HCP connectivity with strategic, interconnected, state-of-the-art digital and interactive experiences. With our Omnichannel approach, we will focus our efforts on a cross-channel strategy, seamlessly integrating content on and offline to provide consistency across multiple, well-considered touchpoints during the user’s journey. You will work closely with Digital Engagement, Client Solutions, Scientific Communications, and Business Development to define and deliver new products and enhancements.
