Overview


In this role, you will both be strategic and very hands-on. You’re resourceful and driven by providing access to innovative therapy to patients. As the Senior Director, International Markets (Germany), you are responsible for building, developing and leading the assigned country organization to market access approval of the first solid tumors TIL therapy. You will drive meaningful commercial success by securing access, building trustful relationships with the Country ecosystem (medical experts, Societies, Authorities), actively engaging with accredited centers and ensuring accurate project management for assigned country. This position will contribute to setting business direction and priorities and take ownership for driving the overall growth and scalability of the business. The role is meant to evolve as market access in assigned country is granted.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Build positive working relationships with medical experts, health authorities, country societies
  • Adaptation and localization of the Global strategic plan to meet the needs of the country and lead business development initiatives that support the overall company strategy. 
  • Achieve commercial success by actively harvesting accounts and creating leads at new accounts, soliciting support from other business units to close deals, and securing profitable business
  • Develop and lead the market access strategy and implementation with the support of the Market Access Head for Europe
  • Lead and co-create with accredited treatment centers a well-structured patient care pathway to provide therapy. 
  • Takes accountability for issues that may arise and rectify those issues. 
  • Delivers projects on time and on budget
  • Provide leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and trends
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • MBA or a graduate degree in a life sciences field
  • Minimum of 13+ years of experience in management and leadership within the pharma/biotech industry
  • Extensive experience within a leadership role, preferably as a Country Manager or similar position with proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth as well as a proven track record to develop and execute a strategic plan
  • Multilingual capabilities, including proficiency in the local language(s).
  • Market access hand-on experience assigned country
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting will be a plus, as the role is meant to evolve in the next 1-2 years
  • Comfortable leading and managing change programs and contributing beyond own function scope of expertise
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset is required 

Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Strong and demonstrable track record of successful launches, with Cell & Gene therapies 
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to allow you to work in a matrix biotech
  • Entrepreneurial mindset is required
  • English & Country language fluent
