The Senior Data Platform Engineer operates as senior technical leader within a team of engineers with technical responsibility for the performance, stability and scalability of an AWS-based advanced data processing platform.
They will work hands-on with the business and technology groups to design, blueprint, and supervise the development of enterprise data solutions enabling analytic & data science use cases. The Senior Data Platform Engineer is responsible for delivering easily understandable, accessible, well-governed and secured data aligned to our Data & AI strategies.

Role qualifications:
- 10 or more years of experience in information intelligence and data solution design
- Strong domain expertise in healthcare business, administrative and clinical data
- 5 or more years of experience with data engineering technologies, including but not limited to Spark, PySpark, Scala, SQL
- Hands-on experience with
- Implementation of data lakes and data warehouses, to support large-scale structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
- Developing scalable data engineering pipelines
- Data modeling for data lakes and data warehouses, to support large-scale structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
- Developing scalable data engineering pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Management.
- Master’s degree preferred but not required
Key Skills:
- Expertise in cloud-based data technologies and relational databases, specifically AWS based application such as MWAA, Redshift, S3, EMR, Glue, QuickSight, and Aurora
- Expertise in enterprise data architecture design supporting business intelligence, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications
- Expertise in enterprise data architecture design supporting data products
- Experience in data management principles such as data governance, data security, data quality
- Analytical skills with hands-on experience in identifying, quantifying, and effectively raising risks associated with data quality, compliance, retention, and security
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with capability to execute with business and technology stakeholders.
What you will be doing:
- Operate as senior leader within a team of engineers, with technical responsibility for the performance, stability and scalability of an advanced data processing platform
- Hands-on development and implementation of data strategies in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders of varying levels
- Lead the collaboration with Product Owners and development teams to understand business and analytic requirements, translate them into meaningful data pipeline design requirements and analytic products
- Architect and guide ETL engineers to optimize and maintain data models, and enable end-to-end data-driven integration
- Architect and deliver data solutions to support complex business intelligence and machine learning solutions
- Direct and contribute to data pipeline development effort
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture team to develop and implement future state data architecture standards, guidelines, and principles for the enterprise
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of enterprise data stewardship, governance, and cataloging of company data and meta data
- Collaborate with the data science and development teams to enable technologies and processes to maintain and improve data quality standards
