Get Ready To:

Lead with Technical and Client-Centric Excellence

  • Guide and grow a small engineering team (2+ engineers), balancing leadership and mentorship with hands-on technical execution.

  • Collaborate directly with clients to understand technical requirements, co-design solutions, and act as their trusted engineering partner.

  • Write production-level code primarily using Node.js, TypeScript, and RESTful APIs.

  • Deliver scalable, performant, and reliable backend systems while addressing client-specific needs and use cases.

  • Conduct code reviews and uphold high standards in development, testing, and deployment.

Represent Deel to Clients — and Clients to Deel

  • Serve as a technical advisor to enterprise clients, supporting onboarding, integration, and post-sale expansion.

  • Translate business requirements into robust engineering solutions and feed real-world client insights into product planning.

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Solutions Engineers, and Backend/Frontend teams to deliver both custom and scalable platform improvements.

  • Ensure the best possible customer experience by solving technical issues quickly and thoroughly.

Drive Strategy and Execution

  • Lead sprint planning, technical roadmap discussions, and cross-functional collaboration to align client expectations with backend delivery.

  • Identify technical risks and proactively manage mitigation strategies.

  • Innovate through rapid prototyping, iterative development, and automation.

Foster Culture and Growth

  • Hire, mentor, and support the professional development of your team members.

  • Champion a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.

  • Cultivate an inclusive team environment where people feel empowered and supported.

What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience in fast-paced SaaS, B2B, or enterprise environments.

  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience — ideally with small or agile teams.

  • Strong technical foundation in Node.js, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and SQL/PostgreSQL.

  • Proven success working directly with external clients or cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with non-technical audiences.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and setting best practices for backend development.

  • A bias for action, ownership, and solving customer problems end-to-end.
