Job Role: Sr. Mortgage Broker Assistant (004 - 00159)

Work Schedule: 40 hrs / week | Australian Timezone

Salary: 2,500  - 2,800 AUD / Month (Final offer will be based on the client’s assessment, as well as your experience and background)

Contract Type: Independent Contractor Agreement; Full-Time; Remote

Role Overview:

As a Sr. Mortgage Broker Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting mortgage brokers by handling the end-to-end loan processing, ensuring a seamless experience for clients. You will be responsible for loan preparation, documentation management, and liaising with lenders and clients to help drive successful mortgage outcomes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong mortgage broking experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

In this role, you will work semi-autonomously, liaising directly with brokers and clients to manage lodgements, compliance checks, pricing requests, variations, and discharges. A strong understanding of lender policies is essential to ensure compliance and smooth processing of all transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist brokers with loan application preparation, submission, and follow-up
  • Collect, verify, and manage required documentation from clients
  • Liaise with lenders, solicitors, and clients to ensure timely loan processing
  • Track loan applications through to settlement, providing updates to all stakeholders
  • Maintain client records accurately in CRM systems
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client queries promptly and professionally
  • Stay up to date with lender policies, products, and industry changes
  • Support the brokers with any administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Handle lodgements, compliance checks, pricing requests, variations, and discharges
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating with brokers and clients as needed
  • Work closely with an established team of broker support staff to get up to speed
  • Improve processes, and train future team members as the business grows and expands

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Broker Assistant (senior level preferred), with at least 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending processes, lender requirements, and industry regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously
  • Proficient in using CRM systems, loan submission platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of lender policies and the mortgage broking environment
  • Previous experience in an Australian mortgage broking environment is highly preferred
  • Previous experience with the Connective platform and Mercury CRM is highly preferred
