Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer REMOTE Direct Hire We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a small, high-performing engineering team focused on ambitious technology goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, where quick thinking, long-term strategic awareness, and the ability to collaborate effectively are essential. Candidates will work on building and managing scalable cloud infrastructures across AWS, Azure, and GCP using tools like AWS CDK, Azure Blueprints, GCP Deployment Manager, and Terraform, while developing IAM policies and automating operations through GitHub Actions.
The Cloud Platform Engineer will also be responsible for instrumenting and deploying new codebases, implementing security policies with Cloud Custodian, and educating stakeholders on cloud best practices. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on technical work, vendor collaboration, process documentation, and knowledge sharing across platforms like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub. They must be comfortable troubleshooting both modern containerized environments and traditional Windows Server infrastructures, while consistently upholding strong operational and security standards. Required Experience:
Solid experience coding toward system “-ilities” such as scalability, availability, and security
Familiarity with OWASP security principles and ability to build secure systems by design
Expertise in AWS (required), with working knowledge of Azure and GCP
Strong understanding of Cloud as APIs managing real-world components, not just virtual servers
Ability to switch comfortably between various Unix/Linux shell syntaxes, Windows CLI, and GNU/Linux environments
Practical experience debugging Python 3.x, JavaScript, and similar languages
Proven ability to build infrastructure as code solutions and deploy using modern DevOps tools
Comfort balancing traditional server-oriented workflows with containerized, cloud-native architectures
A strong bias for action, continuous learning, and teaching others
Ability to document and clearly share new knowledge across the team
Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Zoom, GitHub, and Artifactory
Certifications and degrees are valued, but practical experience, results, and a learning mindset are equally important
