Position Summary:

Post-sale technical staff position in which predominant job responsibilities and requirements occur after the sale of the organization’s product to the client. Provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of company products. May be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements and/or customization. Ensures that client’s needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote Second-level field applications support to customers and channel partners (C.P) across the LATAM EM region
  • Library preparation, or NGS experience (desirable)
  • Document customer and channel partners (C.P) interactions in SFDC and respond to district inquiries by email.
  • Develop, write, and edit technical documentation and training materials for internal and external customers, including webinars, seminars, courses.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain proficiency with Illumina’s products.
  • Work with the commercial team on sales calls to give technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries
  • Applies basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve routine issues.
  • Determines a course of action based on guidelines.
  • Works on assignments of limited scope where answers can be readily obtained and problem solving requires following standard practices/procedures.
  • Develops working relationships internally.
  • Exchanges standard/basic information with colleagues, immediate supervisor, project leaders and other professionals in the team/group.
  • Requires guided leadership and receives general instruction on work/new assignments.
  • Work is reviewed periodically based on a set of defined procedures or precedence.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and training skills.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelors degree with some experience in molecular biology /Cell biology, genetics, library preparation, NGS or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Typically requires 0 to 2 years of previous professional expertise
