Job description

Title:

Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security.

The successful senior level candidate will be part of the KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA), Cloud Hybrid Edge to Enterprise Test Analysis Suite (CHEETAS), and Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability JMETC User Support Teams. The successful candidate will work as part of the team developing software adapters that interface with the TENA and CHEETAS products. The candidate will need experience in .NET, SQL database, KAFKA, rest-api, and web technology including (React, java script, JSON serialization/deserialization, etc...). Other duties include: documenting, managing configuration, testing, analysis and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved within an agile software release life cycle and resulting in a software product. The candidate also will be expected to lead and mentor junior members of the team on development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must be eligible for Secret Clearance
  • College Degree in Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on .Net development in respect to developing rest API interfaces, web technology and Database access functions.
  • Proficiency using C++, and C#
  • Proficiency with web application technologies, such as React,Java Script, Apache Kafka, etc.
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented (OO) Design & Development including the use of software design patterns
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies including use of version control systems (e.g., Git), issue/problem tracking systems (e.g., Jira), team collaboration software (e.g., Confluence), and continuous integration environments (e.g., Jenkins).
  • The Software Engineer must have the ability to work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

Desired Qualifications:

  • The preferred candidate will have experience working in government/defense labs and their computing restrictions.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Testing and Training Knowledge of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA), Cloud Hybrid Edge to Enterprise Test Analysis Suite (CHEETAS) and the Joint Mission Environment Testing Capability (JMETC).
  • Experience working with Test and Training Range instrumentation and environment. Experience working with major DoD Acquisition programs such as Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) or Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
  • Experience with Source Control Pipelines (Jenkins, etc...)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are desired, as the Software Developer will be in frequent contact with both a project technical lead, and be taking direction from various government leads. Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
