Position Summary: The primary role of this individual is to perform functions related to compliance and operations of Duke University Health System’s (DUHS) 340B drug pricing program. Additional roles include performing internal program audits, information technology coordination, vendor account setup and maintenance, and pharmacy team member training. This position will primarily be a day shift position.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
- Optimize mixed use and retail pharmacy Verity v340B software by reporting to the Director: Pharmacy Business and Revenue Management. Verity v340B activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Mapping unknown and custom NDCs
- Reviewing multipliers
- Performing WAC split analyses
- Monitoring for appropriate transfer of files from DUHS to Verity software
- Perform audit activities per the DUHS 340B Audit Plan.
- Serve as a project leader for specific 340B program activities.
- Monitor quarterly price changes.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Verity system and the functions to be performed. Educate others involved in the purchasing process to ensure proper operation and compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the DUHS 340B drug pricing program. Strive to consistently improve the overall efficiency, value, and integrity of the DUHS 340B drug pricing program.
- Develop and foster working relationships with other internal working counterparts at DUHS (IT, finance, compliance, and others) to facilitate productive exchanges of information to improve program efficiency and promote program compliance. Provide data, information, and reports as needed for other business units within DUHS.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program with one year of experience in program administration or event production. -OR- Twoyears of postsecondary education with three years of experience in program administration or event production.
Experience
.Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree program. Prior hospital experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred. Strong skills and prior experience with computer technology and programs including Excel and database management software are required. Experience with the 340B drug pricing program, pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management strongly preferred.
