Job Summary:
The Vail Resorts’ Investigations Team is looking for an exceptional Analyst, Internal Investigations (Investigator) to join our team. The Investigator reports to a Sr. Analyst, Internal Investigations and works directly with Legal, Human Resources, and Operations teams to investigate and assist with investigations regarding complex and sensitive matters, including violations of Company policies, workplace disputes, equal employment opportunity complaints, and other incidents concerning potential financial, safety, and reputational issues for the Company.
By conducting high-quality independent investigations, you will partner with diverse stakeholders throughout the Company to mitigate risk and achieve high levels of compliance, accuracy, reporting, and issue resolution. You will also help to analyze data and metrics to proactively identify trends and build better investigative systems. The Investigator role requires an agile and diligent problem solver, who can quickly connect with new people and efficiently learn complex areas of the business. Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct, plan, coordinate, collaborate, and learn to independently lead internal investigations, including conducting interviews, analyzing evidence, reviewing personnel records and past practices, creating investigation plans, and making finding of facts
- Act as a neutral party, while providing a balanced perspective and objective investigative analysis
- Identify and distill crucial information needed to assess and resolve problems identified during investigations, including through excellent observation, listening, and critical-thinking skills
- Draft and assist in drafting first-class investigation reports, summaries, and other written materials explaining investigation plans and findings for various stakeholders
- Work collaboratively and effectively with others, maintain confidences, and exercise sound judgment and discretion, especially in dealing with sensitive and complex legal and HR issues and situations
- Encourage trust and build positive working relationships with employees, guests, the Investigations Team, HR, Legal, and various other Operational teams across the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe
- Organize, analyze, and synthesize information, evidence, problems, data, and investigation trends, including through daily tracking and quarterly reports
- Treat others at all levels of the Company with kindness, respect, and inclusion

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of experience conducting investigations, with a strong preference for experience investigating EEO, ADA, ethics, retaliation, and other labor & employment-related issues
- Demonstrated ability to understand applicable labor & employment laws, policies, regulations, and procedures, as well as the ability to effectively interpret complex policies and regulations
- High-quality investigative skills, including witness interview methods, evidence collection and analysis, keen observation, intake and follow-up techniques, and data analysis
- Impeccable judgment, demonstrated drive, and a proven ability to perform effectively within established and evolving guidelines – both collaboratively or independently
- Strong writer with the ability to present clear and logical investigative findings and recommendations
- Proven track record of balancing competing priorities, complex work streams, and diverse personalities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to act with tact and diplomacy while dealing with sensitive, pressurized, and confidential issues
- Ability to analyze and synthesize key insights gleaned from investigation experience, data, and analytics
- A commitment to growth, passion and enthusiasm, humility, and receptivity to feedback culture
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $60,000 - $85,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
