Description

The Associate Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for performing the system testing phase of product development.  This includes executing test cases, verifying test results, and communicating results to the development team. For smaller projects or modifications to existing functionality, this role will also be responsible for writing and managing system test plans. The Associate Quality Assurance Engineer must have a keen eye for detail, a basic understanding of the software development process, and a strong interest in quality assurance.     

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Leverage project requirements and design documents to create a comprehensive system test plan
  • Write specific test cases to adequately test new/modified functions and to regression test unmodified system components
  • Enter and manage the system test plan and cases in JIRA
  • Execute test cases and verify results, including scripts to query the affected database tables to verify database inserts and updates are performing correctly
  • Document and report system test bugs to the appropriate Software Development Team Lead
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Must be able to produce college transcripts showing minimum 3.0 GPA if applicable
  • 1+ years of software development experience or software quality assurance experience
  • 1+ years experience in the following key technologies:
    • RDBMS – requires understanding of relational database and excellent SQL skills
    • Unix Experience Required
    • Spark/Scala Preferred
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress preferred
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodology preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Location: Remote
  • Department: Information Technology
  • Compensation Range: $58,000 - $77,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component.
