Job description

Aegis General Insurance Agency Inc. (AGIA), Specialty Dealer Division, a wholly owned subsidiary of K2 Insurance Services, LLC, is seeking a full-time Broker Experience Coordinator. This is a remote position.

Founded in 1977, AGIA offers a diversified national platform of specialty insurance programs through its insurance companies. Acquired by San Diego-based K2 Insurance Services in 2013, AGIA continues to expand its product offerings and distribution by developing new insurance programs and increasing the number and geographic diversity of its marketing, sales, and support staff.

AGIA offers the opportunity to join an established company in growth mode. Our pay and benefits program includes competitive pay; bonus plan; medical, dental, and vision insurance with no waiting period; paid time-off in year of hire; and 401(k) with employer matching.

Salary Range: 70,000-90,000 USD per year

Position Overview

The Broker Experience Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for internal underwriting referrals and external agent inquiries. You’ll help underwriters focus on production by managing the inbound flow of questions, requests for reconsideration, and exception referrals that require carrier approval. At the same time, you’ll support brokers by helping them navigate our underwriting appetite, quote pipeline, and escalation paths—all while upholding underwriting integrity.

This is a relationship-forward, problem-solving role—ideal for someone who knows how to say “no” without burning a bridge, and “yes” when there’s a compliant path forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track all internal referrals and submissions that fall outside underwriting guidelines
  • Act as the first point of contact for agents needing updates, clarification, or support
  • Communicate clearly with underwriters to help resolve agent inquiries and broker expectations
  • Present exception referrals to carriers when appropriate, with full context and documentation
  • Educate agents on program appetite, eligibility, and common pitfalls
  • Support underwriters by minimizing distractions and streamlining agent communication
  • Identify opportunities to improve agent experience and clarify underwriting processes
  • Participate in occasional travel for agency meetings, conferences, or training sessions

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience working at an MGA or wholesale insurance brokerage
  • Familiarity with garage liability, auto dealer, or related commercial auto insurance programs
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Comfort handling complex or sensitive agent interactions
  • Proven ability to solve problems with practical, compliant solutions
  • Highly organized and self-directed; thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
  • Tech comfortable (email, carrier portals, CRM/tracking tools, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (agent visits, industry events, team offsites)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior underwriting support, referral handling, or broker service experience
  • Ability to read and interpret underwriting guidelines
  • Experience in a high-touch, referral-heavy commercial lines environment
