Project Description:
The IMIT Project and Portfolio Management Office oversees a variety of projects within Northern Health. The projects include the IMIT components of Capital, Strategic, and traditional IMIT projects involving organizational transformation elements such as process change, software implementations, service development, and the IMIT components of minor renovation projects. The proponent should expect to be involved in multiple projects throughout the engagement.
IMIT Projects are complex, challenging and resource intensive. They are also time-critical with significant cross project dependencies, often requiring the same people.
Services Required:
· We require project management and project coordination services for a variety of IMIT projects. Project management services encompass the common practices identified in the Project Management Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBK).
· Northern Health requires the use of specific templates for reporting and has a minimum standard for project management activities which require completion of a charter, management of scope, schedule, and resources.
· The projects require significant expertise in stakeholder engagement. The proponent should have experience in the Provincial Healthcare context and previous work in the North is an asset.
· The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for completing project plans including the project charter (project definition), schedule, resource plan and a budget along with other common project management plans as identified in the PMBOK. Project rigour will vary with the scope and complexity of the individual project. The PM also must report, at minimum, monthly for projects they are assigned.
· The project manager is expected to facilitate planning workshops to develop project materials as well as lead project teams in a highly matrixed environment.
· The project management work is to be allocated to suitable levels of experience and skill. The vendor will provide options for assigning expert, senior and intermediate level project management resources.
Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:
· Expert project management resources are required to have 5 years of IMIT project management experience in the healthcare sector as well as industry recognized certifications or education.
· Senior project management resources are required to have 2 years of IMIT project management experience in the healthcare sector as well as industry recognized certifications or education.
· Intermediate project management resources are required to have an industry recognized certification or education, or 2 years of IMIT project management experience.
