Ankura Ailevate is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our frontend engineering and system design efforts. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a strategic mindset to ensure the development of scalable, high-performance web applications.

The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader who has successfully designed and implemented technical strategies, built design systems, and mentored teams to elevate software quality and development workflows. Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & System Design

  • Define and drive the technical vision and frontend architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.

  • Oversee the implementation of design systems, internal tooling, and architectural frameworks that improve efficiency across teams.

  • Research and introduce best practices and new technologies to enhance software development workflows.

Team Management & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor a team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.

  • Guide teams in writing cleaner, maintainable, and efficient code through code

reviews, best practices, and training initiatives.

  • Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across microservices and APIs.

Engineering Strategy & Delivery

  • Own the engineering roadmap, ensuring alignment with product and business objectives.

  • Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines, and development workflows to improve overall efficiency.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to drive the delivery of high-quality, customer centric features.

Quality, Stability & Customer Focus

  • Identify and resolve long-standing technical issues impacting product stability and user experience.

  • Collaborate with Product and UX teams to ensure a seamless and engaging user interface.

  • Improve engineering processes to reduce recurring issues and ensure a high

  • standard of code quality and security.

Requirements:

Technical Expertise

  • 20+ years of experience in software development, specializing in frontend engineering & system architecture. Proficiency in React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern web technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of backend technologies, API design, and system scalability.

  • Experience with microservices, API contracts, and performance optimization.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Proven track record in leading and mentoring engineering teams at scale.

  • Expertise in technical strategy, architectural decisions, and design systems.

  • Experience defining and enforcing best practices in engineering workflows.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across engineering, product, and UX teams.

Process & Quality-Driven Mindset

  • Experience in modernizing legacy systems and improving stability.

  • Ability to solve complex engineering problems with a focus on scalability and maintainability.

  • Passion for customer experience and delivering high-quality products.
