Job Title: Materials Operations Analyst

Reports to: Manager, Materials Operations

Location:  Remote – West Coast Preferred

The Role

The Materials Operations Analyst plays a key role in driving efficiency and optimization across Deckers Brands material supply chain—ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, reliability, speed to market, and innovation. This role supports critical functions across the brand’s material portfolio and works closely with the manager to enhance process improvement, enforce data governance within the FPLM system, and ensure supplier compliance through ESG and internal trade platforms and systems.

With a strong focus on operational efficiency, the Analyst also supports vendor scorecard data and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement material supplier strategies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and analytically minded, with the ability to engage effectively with global stakeholders across multiple functions.

Your Impact

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees Materials Operations calendar and project scopes to ensure deliverables are executed on time
  • Supports vendor score card data and monitors supplier compliance as it relates to the optimization of ESG and trade compliance system/platforms
  • Supports alignment across all brands in FlexPLM data governance, focusing on FlexPLM process improvements, material libraries and the consistency of the Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
  • Leads process, tool and SOP refinements across Materials Operations and Digital Production Teams
  • Coordinates with all cross functional partners to implement material supplier strategies as it relates to the T2 Supplier Assessment Tool
  • Acts as a liaison to material suppliers related to external 3D digital material scans, and oversees FPLM governance as it relates to material images

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Advanced degree in business, supply chain, textiles or equivalent preferred
  • Bilingual in Mandarin, Vietnamese preferred, but not required.

Work Experience:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience working with a global company in footwear or apparel industry
  • Experience working in materials, focusing on acquiring materials that meet rigorous quality and sustainability standards.
  • Demonstrated capacity to execute a variety of projects with varying timelines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in research, development and sourcing materials for cost, quality and sustainability objectives
  • Experience in building vendor relationships
  • Effective at collaborating with various stakeholders, contributing to multiple projects and product calendars.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Highly Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Flex PLM
  • Skilled in Adobe Suite or similar software
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that facilitate clear, efficient exchange of information.
  • Excellent research skills to gather information related to innovative sustainable material trends.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills, contributing to a positive working environment.
  • Practical knowledge in materials science and shoe and/ or apparel construction, a plus

$75,000 - $80,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
