Work with students individually or in small groups to support academic achievement.
Implement behavior support plans (BSPs) and reinforce positive behavioral interventions.
Assist in the collection of data on student academic progress and behavior.
Collaborate with teachers and specialists to adapt lessons and strategies for individual needs.
Support classroom instruction by reinforcing learning activities under teacher supervision.
Assist in de-escalating student behaviors and employing crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
Promote a positive and inclusive school climate by modeling respectful behavior.
Participate in IEP/504 or behavior team meetings when requested.
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other non-instructional times as needed.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent (associates or bachelors degree preferred).
Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or behavioral setting.
Knowledge of behavior management strategies, including PBIS or CPI (training provided, if necessary).
Ability to build rapport with students and maintain professional boundaries.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
May involve exposure to challenging behaviors.
Requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
