Job description

About Specialty Program Group: Our goal is to partner with industry-leading specialty businesses to provide them with the ability to achieve their goals and optimize their businesses. Specialty Program Group offers access to capital and investment, deep carrier relationships, creative thinking, product development and broad distribution, while allowing our businesses to maintain the essence of what makes them successful. Specialty Program Group delivers leading-edge specialty expertise backed by transformative digital capabilities and sophisticated data and analytics.

About SPG Ancillary, a division of Strategic Benefit Resources: SPG Ancillary is a division of Specialty Program Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of HUB International. Our mission is to solve problems, create a better experience, and produce results for our broker, carrier, and benefits technology partners. We pride ourselves on encouraging creativity with each problem, embracing collaboration at every opportunity, and empowering commitment to expected results. Our expertise lies in dental, vision, life, disability, supplemental health, and leave management. Our organization is comprised of four integrated teams: marketing, client service, leave management solutions, and business operations. As an extension of a brokerage’s consulting and service teams, we support marketing, sold case implementation, account support, renewal management, analytics & insights, leave administration & state disability compliance.

About the Position: The Sr. Operations Analyst is the operational quarterback, leading cross-functional efforts to solve complex challenges and drive strategic initiatives across SPG Ancillary. This role dives deep to understand current processes, workflows, and team responsibilities — not to perform every function, but to be dangerous enough to recognize where roles intersect, how they are impacted, and how to bring the right stakeholders together for success. The Sr. Operations Analyst proactively identifies operational inefficiencies, champions change management, and partners across teams, brokers, carriers, and technology vendors to deliver smart, scalable solutions that elevate the client experience and internal efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional analysis of operational workflows, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Develop a deep working knowledge of departmental functions to understand when, where, and how teams will be impacted by new initiatives.

  • Proactively quarterback projects, pulling in the right stakeholders at the right time to ensure smooth execution and adoption.

  • Build and document current-state and future-state process maps, making operational complexity simple and actionable.

  • Partner with technology vendors and internal teams to evaluate and implement new solutions that drive operational excellence.

  • Deliver clear, data-driven recommendations to leadership on operational improvements, process reengineering, and tech integrations.

  • Track and report on project milestones, operational KPIs, and the impact of implemented changes.

  • Support and sometimes lead strategic projects aimed at scaling the business and enhancing the broker, carrier, and client experience.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, business analysis, consulting, client service or project management, preferably in employee benefits, insurance, or related industries.

  • Proven experience working cross-functionally to solve complex operational problems.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down workflows and identify root causes.

  • Skilled in stakeholder management, communication, and organizational influence.

  • Familiarity with technology platforms such as CRMs, quoting/enrollment systems, or operational databases a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.

Work Location: This is a 100% remote position working in your local time zone. Access to a local office may be available upon request.

Salary Transparency: The expected salary range for this position is $110,000-$150,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) accounts, paid-time off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity, and commissions for some positions.
