Job description

As the Hardware Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of hardware products for our IoT-enabled condition monitoring platform. This role involves managing the product development lifecycle from concept to release, working with cross-functional teams, and collaborating with customers and partners. You have a strong technical background in hardware design and development, as well as experience managing the development and delivery of hardware products for IoT applications. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Investigate and Document Legacy Products
    • Dig into existing product capabilities, configurations, and edge cases.
    • Work with hardware and software engineers, customer support, and QA to document product functionality and processes.
    • Create and maintain both internal and external documentation for hardware configurations and variants.
  • Manage Small-Scale Improvements
    • Triage bugs and minor feature requests related to legacy products.
    • Collaborate with engineering to scope, prioritize, and test fixes or product enhancements.
    • Track and report progress on these efforts with stakeholders.
  • Reduce Product Debt
    • Identify redundant or outdated product elements and propose rationalization plans.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to clean up deprecated features and hardware.
  • Customer & Support Liaison
    • Serve as the point of contact for internal teams (Support, Sales, Customer Success) with questions about legacy product behavior.
    • Help ensure that known issues or quirks are communicated clearly and consistently.
  • Metrics and Impact
    • Monitor return data, reliability metrics, and support tickets to inform hardware sustaining priorities.
    • Help maintain traceability between hardware configurations and customer deployments.
    • Provide input into product health metrics and lifecycle planning.

Who You Are: 

  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, technical support, QA, business analysis, or related roles. Startup or IoT experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with hardware development processes, including BOM management and version control.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized with excellent documentation and task-tracking skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, and support.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity and minimal direction.
  • Strong documentation skills and a systems-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with startup space and/or entrepreneurship
  • Experience in the IoT, embedded systems, or connected devices space.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems, Altium, Arena, or similar tools.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, sensors, and industrial protocols.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Figma, or similar.
  • Exposure to product lifecycle management, particularly in sustaining roles.
