Position: Content Writer

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports to: Content Team Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal business hours in your timezone

States Eligible for Hire: AK, AR, CO, DE, FL, ME, MA, MI, MN, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA

Job Overview:

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Content Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling content that engages the target audiences of our clients. Your words will play a key role in driving traffic, building trust, and converting readers into loyal customers.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and create engaging SEO-rich topics for monthly content (generally 3 months in advance)
  • Write compelling SEO-rich blogs.
    • Conduct keyword research and development.
    • Write compelling keyword-rich headlines (h1, h2, h3, etc).
    • Research topic for current and accurate data.
    • Create a linking strategy including blogs that link to new blogs and link out to other blogs to create topic clusters and enhance website performance..
    • Write in a scannable style using the client’s voice
    • Ability to use AI to help write while carefully fact-checking and adapting to the client’s voice
  • Write related content for additional platforms, including GBP updates, email marketing and social media.
  • Create well-designed images to coordinate with content and that are attention-grabbing.
  • Project management — organize writing schedules to complete content or finished projects within the deadlines assigned.
  • Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with other content team members to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Load content correctly into WordPress and email platforms. Leave in “draft” mode for final review.
  • Load and schedule social media into Meta Business Suite.
  • Communicate and cooperate with clients and the content team, including a content manager, editors, and web publishers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven record of excellent SEO writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio.
  • Impeccable grasp of the English language
  • Ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues and management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
  • Strict adherence to the style guides of each client and their policies for publication
  • Excellent time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Sheets, Gmail, Google Meet, Canva, and AI
  • Proficiency with WordPress, various email marketing platforms, and Meta Business Suite
  • Familiarity in Monday.com, Canva, Slack, and Google Suite - Docs, Spreadsheets, Calendar, Presentation, Email preferred
