Position Summary
The Change and Release Manager (PMO) will lead the creation and management of the Enterprise Change Advisory Board (CAB) and associated processes, ensuring effective oversight and governance of all major IT changes. This role will collaborate closely with business units, IT, security, compliance, and other stakeholders to assess the impact of significant changes on the organization. In addition will play a key role in other IT governance boards, including Technology and Architecture Board, Data Governance Board, Security Review Board, etc.
The Change and Release Manager (PMO) will also be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing an IT change and release schedule of activities, ensuring minimal disruption and alignment with business objectives.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Define, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide change management processes and release schedule to ensure that all changes are properly assessed, approved, implemented, and reviewed.
- Coordinate the evaluation of the business, security, compliance, technical, and organizational impacts of proposed IT changes to mitigate risks and ensure smooth transitions.
- Serve as the central point of coordination for major IT releases and changes, liaising between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors and necessary gate checks and approvals.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies for changes, ensuring that potential issues are identified and addressed before implementation.
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure that changes adhere to regulatory and security requirements.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the effectiveness of change and release processes, reporting regularly to IT leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in change and release management processes by analyzing trends, feedback, and post-implementation reviews.
- Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field of study; or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Required Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years [nine (9) for non-degreed candidates] of experience in IT change management, release management, or related role.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, particularly Change and Release Management.
- Experience working in complex IT environments with a focus on business applications, security and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders across the business and IT.
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience in establishing a new change advisory board.
- Healthcare and/or Supply Chain IT experience.
Required Skills:
- Must have strong organizational skills.
- Must be detailed oriented and have the proven ability to prioritize work.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.
- Must have sound decision-making abilities.
Professional Certification:
- ITIL Certification preferred
Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, and movements require the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to view a computer screen for extended periods and sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts to 50 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working conditions include normal office and warehouse settings. After-hours support and weekend support as needed are requirements of the position
