Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

The Commercial Strategy Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic decision making on the commercial team through detailed analyses of internal and external data sources. The Analyst plays an essential role using their business and data acumen, and advanced Excel proficiency, to efficiently generate accurate analyses with clear and succinct insights, leading to fact-based recommendations to drive business decision making. Data sets include company financial data, syndicated market research, demand planning forecasts, and marketing campaigns.

 

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Support go-to-market and procurement planning of product innovation through volume forecast modeling
  • Assist in development of key customer partnership proposals through modeling and quantifying scenario opportunities and their financial impact
  • Support the Annual Operating Plan volume budget process through scenario modeling
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain customer-level P&Ls. Make recommendations to achieve customer margin and profitability targets.
  • Lead modeling of optimized pricing, margin, and profitability for new item launches, new distribution initiatives, price changes, and customer-level initiatives
  • Promote and facilitate the concept of profitable revenue growth across all elements of the business
  • Work cross-functionally through collaboration with Retail Data Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain departments
  • Assist in the development of data quality.
  • Conduct thorough data validation and ensure data integrity.
  • Present findings and insights to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular performance reports
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses for potential investments or strategic changes
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging analytical techniques
  • Document analytical processes and methodologies for knowledge sharing and reproducibility

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Intermediate to expert-level proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools to support commercial and operations functions of consumer-packaged products
  • Managing multiple & large datasets for high level analysis and business impact
  • Experience with analysis automation through power queries, power apps, etc. VBA coding knowledge a plus.
  • Strong fluency in CPG POS Syndicated Platforms (Nielsen/NIQ, SPINS, Circana/IRI, 84.51/Stratum, etc.)
  • Will take initiative to work through complex business problems with a strong attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and integrity, solution-focused, and “can do” attitude
  • Strong business and financial principal acumen and analytical thought process using data to make thoughtful, fact-based recommendations to Senior Leadership.
  • Comfortable working autonomously while maintaining accountability

  • Pay Range: $80,000 to $95,000, bonus eligible
