Ubiminds is assisting a company which is building an exciting new product suite for Public Safety. 

Challenge

As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll lead the development of a scalable data platform and member management solution. You'll tackle complex challenges in data exchange and performance, shape architectural decisions, and mentor the team—all while working hands-on with technologies like Ruby and Rust in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What you'll do

- Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs for complex products.
- Develop and manage large-scale, reliable data pipelines.
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code following best practices like TDD and code reviews.
- Contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and product roadmap planning.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Take ownership and help shape the technical and team culture.

In order to succeed in this position, you will need:

Mandatory skills
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Rust and/or Ruby and Rails.
- Proven experience designing and building APIs and large-scale data systems.
- Passion for writing high-quality code and leveraging modern development practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative, distributed teams.

Nice to have
- Experience with mission-critical, highly available systems.
- Background in agile product development environments.
- Background in the health care industry, bringing relevant domain knowledge and insights.
- Familiarity with AWS, leveraging cloud services to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
