DevOps Engineer/AWS

GDIT is seeking a DevOps Engineer to provide Cloud Engineering services for an exciting contract. This engineer work with a team of cloud architects and engineers to design and build services to help manage and secure this clients fleet of AWS accounts. They will work with team members to automate existing infrastructure management tasks by contributing to a codebase currently built on AWS CDK in Python.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of DevOps/SecOps Engineers to fully automate existing infrastructure workflows
  • Develop new end to end automation using Python, AWS CDK, and Cloudformation.
  • Lead the Develop new features to help manage a multi-account environment.
  • Expand the current python and CloudFormation/CDK based infrastructure.
  • Perform migration, modernization of existing infrastructure, to include refactoring, re-architecting components, products, development of CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
  • Write or expand system and architecture documentation for systems you are automating.
  • Contribute to the existing teams community of practice.

Key Requirements:

  • U. S. Citizen and/or Green Card holder or Perm. Resident
  • Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience working with CloudFormation, terraform or other cloud infrastructure management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementation end to end automation workflows.
  • Demonstrated python programming skills.
  • Familiarity developing solutions on AWS using CDK, CodePipeline, Lambda
  • Experience managing a multi-account environment and deploying new services and guard rails in such an environment.
  • 3+ years’ AWS experience in a solutions delivery role.
  • 3+ years’ experience with solutions delivery using well-architected cloud frameworks, services, and technologies.
  • 5+ total years IT of development experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey cloud technologies and solutions to customer personnel.
  • Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation..

Desired:

  • 3+ years’ experience working within a DevSecOps/DevOps environment, utilizing AWS services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services and tools.
  • Experience with third-party tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible Knowledge of end-to-end modern agile software development.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team and a fast-paced dynamic environment.

The likely salary range for this position is $120,700 - $163,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
