As a Marketing Solution Manager, will be responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of integrated marketing programs, campaigns and initiatives focused on driving growth for United Rentals’ Specialty businesses. The role will support both Specialty businesses and vertical go to market sales and marketing approach.

What You'll Do:
The Manager will focus on four key areas:
1. Develop the Plan: Working with business and marketing leaders, align with business strategy to determine and recommend support programs; prioritize areas (both verticals and solutions) for focus, and develop, maintain and support necessary program and material development.
2. Build foundational material: Support development and maintenance of necessary segment, role and personal information necessary to inform marketing and sales approaches; recommend and develop objective reporting mechanisms to measure results.
3. Drive the core positioning: Understand and support positioning, messaging and go to market strategies.
4. Manage Integrated Sales & Marketing Programs: Develop necessary material and activate against the timeline, managing projects to ensure each is delivered on time, on budget and with measurable results.
The Manager will play a critical role in positioning United Rentals as the best partner for safety, productivity and sustainability.
Prioritization: Identify and support opportunities where a solutions approach is employed to work toward organization’s goals across Specialty business units.
Customer Programs: Use market segmentation to develop and support programs to target verticals, roles and personas in the buying cycle identifying areas in which horizontal expansion opportunities across UR businesses exist. Identify buyer personas and build relevant content in a variety of formats, including white papers, brochures, social media, Web pages and events.
Plan: Work with Sales and Marketing leadership to support development of strategic initiatives and solution plan, including the major themes that will be communicated into target markets, buyers, the industry landscape and key issues
Messaging Framework: Develop and provide support for new/existing strategic positioning and messaging plans gaining buy-in from sales organization
Project Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (content, design, product, sales, and digital teams) to ensure project alignment with business goals. Actively manage project timelines, scope, resources and deliverables.
Competitive Positioning: Support competitive research for use in positioning against like offerings from other organizations; develop articulation of differentiated value offerings.
New Product Introduction: Support the solution launch plan to assist in determination of the best routes to market for the solution and how new offerings apply across strategic verticals.
Requirements:
BA or BS; MBA preferred
10 years of experience
Knowledge of marketing strategy, messaging, programs and tactics
Understanding of sales cycle and revenue operations
Budget experience: Initial setting, allocation and tracking
Performance management experience: Setting, aligning and managing targets
Experience leading projects in a highly matrixed organization
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Agency experience either as an employee or client is a plus
Consulting experience is a plus
