Position Summary
The Senior Director of Regional Marketing leads a team of Regional Marketer(s) and Oncology Clinical Educator(s) (OCEs) to support the Company’s commercialization of imetelstat in low-risk MDS and future indications. The Senior Director is responsible for coordinating with the core and extended launch teams to ensure preparedness and alignment to marketing strategy ahead of US approval. The Senior Director develops strategy for commercial field engagement and holds team members accountable for education and development of appropriate health care professional (HCP) relationships for imetelstat.
This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President, Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate, implement, and support specific marketing initiatives, including but not limited to, education on imetelstat, education regarding appropriate management of LR-MDS using imetelstat, education on LR-MDS disease state, speaker programs/speaker development, congress presence, medical expert engagement, etc.
- Champion compliant cross-functional collaboration across departments and field-based teams to develop integrated solutions for patients and providers aligned to brand strategy
- Coach team members on the development and execution of a customer engagement plan within their region that is aligned with brand launch strategies and tactics
- Lead a field-based team of Oncology Clinical Educators and conduct regular field visits and business reviews to evaluate the impact of individuals and the team

- Coach, develop, and ensure focus and alignment with functional and Company goals
- Understand key market dynamics in competitive environment and implications to product strategy and messaging through market research, customer interactions, etc.

- Leverage best practices from prior experience while continually fostering a learning culture

Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or life sciences required; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in marketing or customer-facing function in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology Industry, healthcare institution, or healthcare agency, if relevant
- Prior oncology/hematology product launch experience required
- Extensive experience with developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics and interactions with field-based teams
- Existing hematology/oncology customer relationships required, MDS-specific relationships a plus
- Prior field leadership experience a plus
- Direct experience working with heme/MDS key opinion leaders and/or executive-level customers of high influence in large practices, hospitals, and community networks
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR record
- Must meet all credentialing requirements for access to academic institutions, medical facilities, and organizations that are in the assigned geography; these credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, and proof of immunization and/or vaccinations

Salary Statement:
Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant’s relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.
General Salary Range: $260,000 to $280,000
