Overview
The VP, Sales, National Cell Therapy Account Team will lead the sales strategy and execution of Iovance’s US portfolio, ensuring revenue targets are met and driving business growth. This position is an integral role of the commercial leadership team that is responsible for managing the sales team, developing sales strategies, forecasting and building relationships with key stakeholders. This key leadership role requires extensive oncology, hospital, launch, and ideally cell/gene therapy experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Attracts and hires strong talent and builds an exceptional cell therapy hospital-based team
- Leads the development and execution of US sales strategies, ensures operational excellence, and delivers results
- Maintains high visibility with the field organization through regular field visits and ensures a customer-centric approach
- Develops and manages departmental budgets that effectively achieve desired goals and are balanced with the financial objectives of the broader commercial organization
- Collaborate with Marketing, Access and Policy, Business Analytics, HR, and Legal departments
- Works closely with Business Analytics to establish, track and exceed KPIs and field force effectiveness
- Leads a high performing national field organization consisting of Regional Cell Therapy Account Directors and Cell Therapy Account Managers
- Provides training, coaching, follow-up and development of the field-based organization in all phases of their work, including career development
- Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as with US/global healthcare laws and regulations
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Travel
- Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- 20+ years of commercial experience in sales management, marketing, managed markets, account management
- 5-10 years of sales leadership and management experience in national oncology
- BA or BS degree is required
- Knowledge of cell therapy landscape and market dynamics
- Understands in-patient hospital systems, processes, and decision-making
- Understands national/regional payer coverage policies
- Leads from the front and communicates very effectively with the ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and present information persuasively.
- Able to develop and execute strategic plans, analyze market data, and make sound business decisions.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high performing team
- Thrives in a fast-paced, resource constrained, start-up environment with high expectations and accountability
- Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement strategies for improvement
Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- National sales management in hospital setting is preferred
- A postgraduate degree such as an MBA, MPH, or PhD is preferred
