Patient Services Optimisation Manager

Role Summary:

The Patient Services Optimization Manager will be a member of the Customer & Strategy team within the Commercial Portfolio Therapy Area reporting to the Commercial Customer & Strategy Director.

Pfizer commissioned Homecare provides critical support across several therapy areas and ensures that thousands of patients across the UK receive their medicines where and when they need them. The Colleague in role will be

responsible for building partnerships externally and internally to ensure operational excellence, provide organizational insight and collaborate to build and implement the strategy for our Pfizer commissioned Homecare. Additionally, the

colleague will be a key contributor to the Commercial Customer & Strategy team current and future direction.

This role will be accountable for:

• Leading business operations for Pfizer Commissioned Homecare, including account management of homecare companies and leadership of internal stakeholder operations, to maximize quality and efficiency and ensure consistency

of Pfizer approach across the business.

• Leading on the Homecare risk management plan including monitoring and management of variance to ensure the highest standard of quality is delivered through this channel.

• Strategic planning to identify innovative opportunities to meet evolving customer and patient needs, differentiating Pfizer’s innovative medicines from industry competitors.

• Representing Pfizer UK at Industry and NHS Homecare groups, to ensure efforts aligned to shaping environment and enhancing reputation of Pfizer.

• Represent Pfizer UK commercial to efficiently support commissioning of future business requirements with regards to homecare and home delivery.

• Explore and develop opportunities to grow patient access to Pfizer medicines through the homecare channel.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Operations:

• Manage and lead current specialist services - Homecare e.g. revenue, ROI, contract execution, and performance.

• Scope new specialist service opportunities and deliver business case for growth opportunity.

• Ensure service alignment across Pfizer UK - standardized approach to maximize efficiencies and value – through leadership of internal operations to ensure a consistent and aligned approach to operations with third party providers

and customers.

• Ensure adherence to relevant financial policies and procedures, compliance and competition laws.

• Coordinate the overall Homecare risk management plan across risk SME functions.

Demonstrate value of Pfizer medicines:

• Provide specialist insight to the Commercial Portfolio LT and across the TA organizations to support the development of future strategies

• Provide strategic input for value added services into operating plans.

• Identify innovative recommendations to meet customer and patient needs to differentiate Pfizer, through market leading capabilities and execution.

• Work alongside support functions to effectively negotiate and secure future business requirements.

• Support Pfizer UK capabilities to risk assess and implement specialist services and effectively define future requirements.

• Deliver necessary support to differentiate Pfizer as a partner of choice in supporting NHS agenda, co-creating mutually beneficial value propositions, offers and solutions.

• Support the development and management of commercial schemes delivered through specialist services to achieve business priorities

Cross functional working:

• Develop constructive cross functional relationships across Pfizer Therapy Areas, Access & Value, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Medical, Supply, Biopharma Quality, Medical Quality Governance, Affiliate Quality, Drug Safety, Finance and Procurement to facilitate team working, and management of services.

• Contribute and participate in the UK supply chain community as required.

• Lead homecare cross-functional working group.

• Represent Pfizer UK across appropriate industry working groups.

• Represent Pfizer UK across appropriate NHS led workstreams.

• Act as an ambassador for Pfizer, building robust mutually beneficial working relationships with key NHS and homecare company leaders and decision makers including those within NHMC, ABPI Homecare Group, NHS-E and the devolved nations.

• Support effective collaboration between Pfizer and external stakeholders through development of networks of appropriate contacts within industry and professional circles and develop constructive relationships with identified key opinion leaders.

• Develop and maintain constructive relationships with identified customer groups in order to support Pfizer and customer priorities.

Customer focus:

• Develop and maintain thorough understanding of the external environment and issues for specialist services, including Homecare.

• Maintain thorough understanding of customer needs and behaviors, including emerging roles of customers within the NHS and bring insight to influence/shape strategic and operating plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience Skills and Knowledge:

• Strategic thinking and tactical implementation capability

• Highly developed project management skills

• Business planning skills

• Must be able to demonstrate competence in influencing a broad range of senior stakeholders through credible, clear and logical communication

• Knowledge of NHS - Structures/ Functionality/ Processes/ Partnerships

• Up to date understanding of the NHS with particular reference to structure and market access issues affecting the introduction and expanding use of medicines, funding streams and current prescribing issues.

• Computer literate including manipulating Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word

• Ability to assess business risks and opportunities

• Metric development, monitoring and control

• Excellent numeracy skills and excellent ability to interpret data and financial information

Business Experience:

• Experience of working with risk management functions and policies preferred • Commercial Experience across multiple roles: Sales/Account/Specialist Customer management

• Experience of working with full breadth of senior NHS customers preferred

• Experience of working with third party providers to the NHS preferred (ideally homecare)

• Effective track record of cross-functional working

• Direct experience in delivery of projects

• Proven experience in risk management preferred Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or greater

Organizational Context:

Partner closely and collaboratively as needed across One Pfizer, with CPTA LT members and their teams, as well as with other stakeholders and functions across the company to ensure delivery of operational and strategic plans.
