CopperPoint Insurance Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Workers Compensation Production Underwriter. This role is responsible for actively seeking and securing opportunities to distribute commercial insurance products through assigned distribution channels, while developing and maintaining strong agency partnerships. The Underwriter will support both short- and long-term business strategies, working to achieve profit and growth objectives through sound underwriting practices. Additionally, this position will involve the planning and execution of various initiatives, with support from the VP and AVP, to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
Job Responsibilities:
- Builds strategic relationships to drive new business, profitability and other business objectives.
- Analyzes workers compensation accounts to make sound decisions based on individual risk characteristics, exposure analysis, hazard recognition and controls.
- Leads Agency engagement activities for appropriately assigned Agencies; regularly meeting with, communicate strategies and goals, while identifying opportunities with each assigned Agency in their distribution channel
- Conducts producer meetings that are agenda driven, addressing existing deliverables and commitments (company and producer), review existing pipeline and identify new opportunities.
- Effectively monitors producer engagement across the team
- Educates assigned Agency Partners on the portfolio, while implementing target strategies aligned with the Agency Business Model
- Monitors production and quality of assigned Agency partners
- Manages Partnership Plans to maximize growth profit of the portfolio.
- Attains a thorough knowledge of the geographic territory assigned about production sources, competitor activity, and economic and geographic peculiarities.
- Adheres to individual authority levels.
- Prices business according to company underwriting and pricing guidelines.
- Must balance effective pricing and risk selection that produces profit and growth while maintaining successful producer relations.
- Present new and renewal proposals to agency personnel.
- Maintains the highest level of customer service internally and externally.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- BS/BA college degree preferred. The knowledge and skill levels acquired through undergraduate level studies especially in the areas of business administration, finance or marketing.
- Preferred – 2-4 years of P & C insurance industry experience with increasing responsibility.
- Strong insurance, business and financial acumen.
- Ability to demonstrate effective influence abilities both with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with agents and brokers.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, rates, rules, forms, procedures, regulations, coverages and business processes.

Salary Range:
- $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually
- Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
- In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
