Sr Software Engineer

100% Remote - Must reside in the US full time

Brandt Information Services, the leading provider of SaaS technology and marketing services for state wildlife and parks agencies, is paving the way to better communicate and serve the public through their journey to go camping, fishing, boating, hunting, or hiking on public land. At Brandt, we build and improve upon the customer journey for public users buying campground reservations, fishing and hunting licenses, boat registrations, educational event tickets, and as well is the provider of branded and unbranded merchandise for our state agency partners. State funds generated go back into conservation and outdoor recreation improvements.

The Sr Software Engineer will work on industry leading park reservation software (Itinio). The ideal candidate will be experienced with reservation and/or accounting software. They will have experience in SCRUM methodologies, senior experience as a ColdFusion (Lucee) Developer and possesses advanced MySQL skills in addition to knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, APIs, AJAX, and HTML. Experience with Azure Dev Ops, AWS, Git, and Pull Requests is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities

In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including more advanced topics like consolidation, intercompany interactions, and cash versus accrual revenue recognition.
Create financial and auditing reports ensure system integrity.
Monitor and verify the money flow process.
Deep-diving into complex financial issues and identifying and/or resolving the issue at its root.
Create complex MySQL queries to support application development.
Optimize database systems for performance efficiency through the usage of indexes, temp tables, and optimization of the query structure itself.
Analyze solution requirements, design specifications, and/or change requests to develop an understanding of expected system performance.
Design, develop, and test software to meet requirements and design specifications.
Use descriptive comments on complex code.
Development of instruction sets or guides to inform team members on configuration or usage of shared libraries and code.
Write high quality code that adheres to company coding standards.
Communicate progress and blockers on daily standup meetings, and ability to communicate effectively with other internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience with MySQL, JavaScript, JQuery, APIs, AJAX, and HTML.
Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and ColdFusion.
Experience with Azure Dev Ops, AWS, Git, and Pull Requests is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills as well as strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Must successfully clear a Level II fingerprint background check screening.
This position is full-time remote.
